Oral and written language skills

The applicant would need to be able to communicate effectively orally in English in both formal academic settings and interview situations with participants, where building rapport is important. The applicant would also need to be able to communicate effectively in written English, for example writing reports and emails to other members of the research team, and to have good comprehension of academic writing in the social sciences. Spoken and/or written language skills in any of the following would be particularly welcomed, but are not essential: French; Turkish; Farsi; Arabic; Polish; Czech; Romanian; Slovak.

Computer skills

Competent use of email and word processing is essential. Prior experience with Nvivo and/or SPSS would be an advantage but is not essential.

Drivers license

A driving licence would be an advantage but is not essential to the role.

Guidance would be available on finding short term rented accomodation in the city within a reasonable distance of the university.

Working hours / Weekly hours

16 - 37 hours, depending on the preference of the applicant
